My methods and curriculum have immensely helped and improve confidence for every student I have worked with. Whether your student needs help catching up, or wants to advance and enhance their learning, one on one tutoring allows students to ask questions and get the individualized help they need. I ensure each of my sessions are engaging and interactive.

Yes! If you have a small group of students, I am happy to tutor them. It is preferred that the group is the same grade, or the same level. Group session are 1 hour. Ask about group rates. 

Depending on your needs, this can be discussed. Tutoring different grade levels can sometimes keep the students from getting the individual attention they need. Of course, we can discuss what is best for your student. Reach out to see if this is right for you!

Depending on your student’s attention and needs, I offer 30 minute, 45 minute or 60 minute sessions. I find that 45 minutes are a great sweet spot! If you are looking for a different time span, this can be discussed during the initial session. 

I will provide any materials needed. But they can have a pencil on hand for the session. Depending on the needs of the student, I may also request a binder to keep all worksheets and assignments together. You may also bring any school work or things your student is struggling with to work on. 

Upon request, I can send a brief summary after the session by text or email according to preference. I can also brief you on how the session went right after. This includes concepts worked on, accomplishments or concerns, and any other important information. 

I value parent/teacher communication. If there is anything that your student’s teacher would like to tell me, I would be happy to be carbon copied on emails between you and the teacher. I also welcome any extra assignments or practice exercises used in class from the teacher. This not only helps your child learn important concepts from me, but also helps them apply the concepts to class work. 

I can definitely give assignments after each session to complement each lesson. If anything is ever too much, or the student is unable to complete it, please let me know so I can best help them.

My methods are aimed at building confidence and improving accuracy and fluency to succeed in the target subject matters. While I push my students to enhance their learning, I go at the pace of my student. Some students progress faster than others and that’s okay. 

I reserve spots for my students based on my availability. If a student does not show, that may cause another student to lose out on an opportunity to learn from me. Therefore, sessions must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a charge. Failure to cancel 24 hours in advance will result in complete payment for the session.

Tutoring is done in your home or at a public location like a library. In your home it is preferable to have a quiet place without distractions. Public areas such as the kitchen, or the main room of a basement are best. In-person tutoring is never done in a student’s bedroom. A desk or a table is also preferred. 

For the safety of your student and myself, I require at least one other person 18 years or older be in the house during tutoring. My standard is that I am a tutor, not a babysitter. You do not have to be in the same room as tutoring, but I do expect you to be within distance so if something is wrong, I can get your assistance.
